As a mom who identifies as LGBTQIA+, Michaelene Cadiz knows firsthand that families don’t follow a single template.
“Every family looks different. They face their own struggles. And they’re all extremely busy,” said Cadiz.
What unites them, she adds, is the parenting journey—especially the milestones all babies share, from teething and weaning to learning to sleep (mostly) through the night. That insight inspired her to found Bazzle Baby, a brand built to support parents of all stripes through their child’s first two years.
“I had a drooly baby and was frustrated with the constant outfit changes,” Cadiz recalled. So, she put her sewing skills to work and created a stylish accessory that also protected clothing: the bandana bib. Within a year, her design was being sold nationwide at Target.
That first win fueled a full product line built around babyhood’s biggest transitions. There’s the Banda Bib Teether—with a silicone triangle to soothe tender gums—the Foodie™️ Collection of eco-friendly feeding gear with smart features like suction bases and roll-up bibs, and the Cozy Hugga collection of soft swaddles and nursery blankets to help everyone sleep longer.
During Pride Month, Bazzle Baby also showcases its “Spread Love” line, a rainbow-themed collection celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Every product we create supports modern families,” said Cadiz. “As a certified LGBTQIA+-owned company, we believe love makes a family—and we hope to spread that love through everything we do.”
Today, Bazzle Baby is a nationally loved brand, stocked in retailers across the US. Cadiz credits Amazon with helping fuel that growth. She has joined the community of independent sellers who have shipped 80 billion items globally with Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA). Using FBA to pick, pack and ship items has freed Cadiz up to scale without worrying about logistics. When she launches new products, she says she is able to build trust and transparency with Amazon Vine, a program that connects brands with high-quality product reviews. Data from Amazon Business Reports also helps her make informed decisions on pricing and product development.
“With Amazon, we’ve been able to showcase our products to millions of parents and be right where they’re shopping,” says Cadiz. “That kind of access has helped us grow tenfold.”
