Julie Napolitano’s entrepreneurship journey began with a simple grievance: walking her dog felt like a juggling act—less a physical exercise than an exercise in frustration.
“I was tired of fumbling with treats, poop bags, and my essentials every time I took my dog out,” she said. “I needed a hands-free bag that kept everything in place so I could focus on my dog, not my stuff.”
When she couldn’t find what she needed, she created it herself. The result was the 3-in-1 Crossbody Dog Walk Bag & Treat Pouch, a stylish, hands-free accessory that organizes everything a dog parent needs on the go. It includes a built-in dispenser for Puppington’s corn-based, compostable poop bags—which break down faster than plastic—and even a collapsible, non-stick travel bowl so dogs can eat and drink anywhere.
She launched Puppington on Amazon in 2022. To introduce her brand to new customers, Napolitano turned to Amazon A+ Content, which lets sellers upgrade their listings with richer storytelling. She used features like videos, enhanced images and comparison charts to showcase Puppington’s style and function—and help shoppers feel confident in their purchase.
Napolitano also delved into Amazon’s data tools to better understand where her customers were coming from and what keywords they were using to find her products—information that helped her further refine her listings to reach even more customers. Since then, Puppington has reached thousands of pet parents with its smart, stylish gear. In 2024, the sleek dog-walking kit even caught Oprah’s attention, earning a spot on her coveted Favorite Things list. Since then, it has been a media favorite, featured on Good Morning America, The View, InStyle and beyond.
Puppington’s success has also allowed Napolitano to give back to causes she cares about, including NYC Second Chance Rescue, Korean K9 Rescue, the ASPCA, and the Special Olympics.
“At Puppington, our mission isn’t just about making products, it’s about making a difference,” she said. “We’re here to make life easier for dog parents, better for dogs, and greener for the planet, one pawprint at a time.”
