After a layoff in 2020, Mikey Kim turned to candle making, using Fulfillment by Amazon to test his first batch of 500 handmade candles. They sold out within a month, forming the foundation of his new company, Hemlock Park.

Today, the brand has sold more than 1 million candles and ranks among the top performers in its category in the Amazon store, with sales that have more than doubled each year.
