Scaling with Amazon, a small Montana business reaches the world
Bonner, Montana
From their headquarters in Bonner, Montana, Planetary Design transformed a simple innovation—an airless coffee storage container—into a global success story. Using Amazon’s global selling tools, the 22-person company expanded from a local business into an international brand, reaching coffee enthusiasts from Berlin to Tokyo.

“Back in 2016, we were doing about $2 million in annual sales,” said CEO Jess Nepstad. “Today, we’re at $10 million, with customers in multiple countries. That kind of growth wouldn’t have been possible without Amazon’s global selling program.”
Missoula-based compression sock company VIM & VIGR gives nurses a leg up
Missoula, MT
VIM & VIGR
VIM & VIGR made the choice to sell in the Amazon store early in the company’s history. “We knew customers visit Amazon with a high intention to purchase. If you’re a small business trying to expand your brand, you want to go to where the customers are. Selling on Amazon just made sense,” said VIM & VIGR owner, Michelle Huie.

It’s through Amazon customer reviews that Huie learned medical professionals were becoming one of VIM & VIGR’s largest customer groups. Doctors and nurses love the compression, which helps relieve the strain of standing, and the fun patterns that spice up sterile scrubs. Huie has also donated hundreds of pairs of socks to the nursing community directly.
