Most people think a hangover from alcohol consumption is about dehydration. Nishal Kumar, a trained geophysicist with three years of chemistry and biology study, knew the science told a different story. The real culprit is acetaldehyde: a toxin that builds up when the liver can’t clear the compound fast enough.
That insight, born from personal frustration and rigorous research, became the foundation of No Days Wasted, a wellness brand based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The business is now seeing 30–40 percent year-over-year sales growth in the Amazon store and selling across thousands of retail locations.
“No Days Wasted started as a personal science experiment for me,” said Kumar, founder and CEO of No Days Wasted.
In 2017, Kumar was balancing intense morning training sessions with an active social life. He needed to perform at his best athletically without compromising socially, and he felt the solutions on the market at that time weren’t grounded in real science. His focus on living a full life drove his mission to find a solution.
“What are we after in this life?” Kumar said. “It’s about experiencing as much as possible while feeling our best and doing things on our own terms.”
By late 2018, Kumar turned his research into a real product. He officially launched No Days Wasted and began selling in the Amazon store in 2019 after friends recommended it.
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) handles storage, packing, and shipping for No Days Wasted and Subscribe and Save allows them to consistently send products to 2,000 customers in the U.S. and Canada.
“Immediately we saw spillover from all the marketing we were doing, to a really healthy baseline of sales that helped with good cash flow,” Kumar said.
Today, Amazon accounts for approximately 50 percent of No Days Wasted’s total revenue. The 10-person business has three core product lines in multiple flavors and formats — DHM Detox, a liver-support recovery formula and the company’s hero product; Hydration Replenisher, an electrolyte and immune support drink mix; and Sleep Assist, a magnesium-based sleep supplement.
No Days Wasted manufactures domestically, operating through contract manufacturing facilities on the East and West coasts of the United States and Canada. The products are sold across retail channels, including Amazon, Whole Foods, and approximately 3,000 retail stores, both large and small.
Kumar taps into several Amazon tools like Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), which handles storage, packing, and shipping for the small business. Subscribe and Save drives recurring revenue with approximately 2,000 subscribers across the US and Canada, while Prime Day has historically delivered a 4–5x sales multiplier and introduced the brand to new customers, according to Kumar.
What are we after in this life? I think it’s about experiences. It’s about experiencing as much as possible while feeling our best and doing things on our own terms.
No Days Wasted also uses Amazon’s A+ Content tool to educate customers on the science behind their formulations through videos, enhanced images, and other visuals. In addition, the feedback from customer reviews has shaped product development. For example, early customer reviews discovered that DHM Detox displeased some customers, prompting the team to reformulate.
The team also values in-person interactions with current and prospective customers. “The big thing for us is getting out in person, capturing real life reactions and amplifying that content on Amazon,” Kumar said.
Looking ahead, No Days Wasted plans to launch new products in summer 2026, starting in Canada before expanding to the US. Amazon remains central to the launch strategy by using early customer reviews and sales growth in the store to build momentum before expanding into additional retail. Their ultimate goal is to make sure people experience everything in life and aren’t sidelined by the effects of a hangover.
“We want people to experience everything that there is in life — travel, weddings, birthdays, celebrations — and have fun ultimately,” Kumar said.
